P' Boh tills under his mung bean crop in a paddy near the forest. Crops like mung bean are an important part of organic farmers' crop rotation systems, fixing nitrogen in the soil and providing essential nutrients for the rice crop. Using green manure crops also lower farmers' fertilizer costs, as they can save seeds and replant every season.

Mung beans are also used for making really tasty treats!

  • once my uncle used to do the same right after rice harvest, he just plowed the field and grown mung beans on them. he used to explained that it keeps the soil fertile, now after 20 yrs I guessed it's one of the most effective proven reasonable fertilizer ever used, and it's organic..
