He'll get a West Wing briefing from emergency chiefs on the swamping in parts of Iowa and Illinois. Later in the week, Bush will be visiting the areas to get a close-up look at the destruction.A public wake is scheduled this afternoon in Washington for Tim Russert, the late host of NBC's "Meet the Press." The 58-year-old, veteran newsman died suddenly from a heart attack Friday while recording voice-overs for the show. A private funeral will be held for Russert tomorrow. Saying that the U.S. needs change now more than ever, Al Gore is throwing his support behind Barack Obama. The former vice president told a Detroit crowd that 'elections do matter' and Obama can bring about the change America needs.And the New York Mets are looking for a new skipper --- after firing Willie Randolph over night. Randolph was let go after the Mets game on Monday -- more than two years after being hired and not even a season after the team's colossal collapse last September.
