One of my favourite albums of all time

England's Best!

I do recall hearing a Daintees song on the radio in the Albert Square Cafe on Eastenders. It was like a cry for help from someone in the Production Crew saying "please rescue me...I am trapped in the South of England being forced to work on an Eastend based Soap by a load of Londoners..please help"

excellent.......

I was passing my local arts centre in Lichfield, Staffs, early nineties and I saw a poster for an MS&TD gig that night. The doors were open so I went inside with my girlfriend and found Martin and the band sitting on the edge of the stage practicing on acoustic guitars. Anyone else would have been annoyed by the intrusion but he introduced us to the band and wrote our names on the guestlist as there were no tickets left. A genuinely nice guy and it was an even better gig for having met him.

july was fruitless

Great memories. I always regretted that I didn't get one of the limited editions of the album, which included a collection of Martin's poetry. Beautiful track; wonderful album.

this really is an outsanding song....needs to be played a lot more on radio/tv because it's hardly ever seen but it's so good.
-
absolutely excellent FOLK MUSIC
-
I first saw them when they were supporting John Martyn (RIP) in Westcliff-on-Sea back in 1982. Glad to see he's still around but sorry that they have always been so obscure and neglected by radio stations.
-
i saw them a few times years ago, once was in a small pub in birmingham!! they were playing in the room upstairs which was obviously sold out but martin and another band member came downstairs and performed for half an hour before doing their 3 hour gig upstairs, you dont forget that, it was pure magic!
