Brewing TV embraces December's sub-freezing temperatures. In this episode, Dawson and Chip (and the brew dogs) brave the cold for an outdoor parti-gyle brew session. The fruits of their labor - a big ol' American barleywine, a smaller beer Dawson calls an American bitter, and lots of fun. Put on your puffy coat and gloves, grab a pint and think BIG!
Will you be my teacher I need your knowledge

awesome video. I really want to do a partygyle soon
I agree with you on the experience of brewing. my buddy and I brewed my annual batch of christmas ale about a month ago and it was the hottest day of the year here in Indiana. When we crack them open in mid december I'm sure we will commiserate/reflect on how hot it was that day.

@djdevelope32 Steeping grains doesn't extract any sugar, just color and some flavor.

Wow, 30 below. No need for a chiller I guess.

From what I've read, that seems like a lot of DME to add to your brew. Will it not effect color/taste? Don't get me wrong, I know, you know what your doing. I'm just seeking some form of clarification on the matter. Also, why can't we just steep some of the grain we're going to use for brew day and use that for the starter? It would have same taste, color, etc.
