how can you get shocked by only 12 volts

drive lasers can only hurt you if the drive is ON!, not unplugged and OFF

nice to some one like me... i would have done the same to that drive, i would have opened it and see each and evey parts of the device and their function before i replace it with a new drive....this is one hell of engineering and super complicated.
i feel less complication would have extended the super drives life...

@SuperDave61164 superdrive was optional on that machine.
