  • I have flown on a lot of aircraft in my life and I don't care what you say about the DC-10, the L-1011 was the best aircraft I have ever flown on bar none. But then again it was back in the days when they built aircraft for comfort of the client and not for how many people you could squeeze into a fuselage.

It was back in the days when the airlines appreciated their customers.

  • When I flew for TWA, I was on the L-10 a lot to Europe.....this airplane was luxurious, roomy, quiet, and fun to work in. I don't think I ever had an un happy passenger....

  • @ChorltonM21 hahah!

  • @WaldoUnited - A turbofan! :0)

  • Back in '95, us old folks had what you called Camcoders. And they recorded onto something called video tape that you watched on something called a VCR.

  • Probably the best sounding jet engine ever made. The first flight i ever took (that i remember) was in a L1011 from Kansas City to LA. I sat just in front of the wing and was mesmerized by the engine the entire flight. I fell in love that day... Rolls-Royce made a fan for life.

  • i was in 1 in 80,when we were over canada, near detroit,an door fell off, ,hek, we didnt even no until we got down

  • What an awesome sound music to the ears.:-)

  • @IngloriusBastard11 Remember that the L-1011 was manufactured by Lockheed, they have a different vision than Boeing or Airbus.

  • Thanks for sharing this video. In the '70's I got to fly on a TWA L-1011 from LA to PHX at night. I sat in the right window seat just in front of the engine cowling. I still remember watching the red rotating beacon reflect on the cowling. I fell in love with the sound of the RR engines on the TriStar. I'll never forget that flight.

  • @airasiax yea what i ment was shame its not manufactured any more theres still a few in service!

  • @CRUISEOBRIEN1 you serious bro?
