  • Derrida, Deleuze & Guattari disliked this video.

  • It's a YouTube clip from the show The Simpsons. Why did enough people feel the need to comment about postmodernism so as to cause there to be 7 pages of comments?!?

  • faaar to less dislikes for a moe video ;(

  • @TheCarp1989

Infact, you are correct Carp1989. I apoligise for my arrogance. :)

  • @TheCarp1989 **"live in post-modernism"

I agree with you that modernism is essentially dead so I will use that as an example of what I am talking about. Modernism, although having identifiable starting and end points, is not something you live in, instead it is an umbrella term for a variety of artistic and intellectual developments. Yeah it is a state of society, but to be a part of there is, in a sense, a kind of demand for an awareness of it.

  • @REZZA2020 Although I understand what you are saying, people as a whole don't "live in post-modernity" as if it were a set period in time. It is more of an intellectual development demanding a certain level of self-awareness in addition to a critical approach what it is that you actually seem to be identifying as what post-modernism actually is.

  • @REZZA2020

If you want proof of this, just look at what you are doing this moment.

  • @TheCarp1989

Not sure why where or what you mean by "experiencing"

It is simply the state of society. That is to say ; it is chaotic, fragmented, uncertain e.t.c inline with the collapse of tradtional structures of society imposed by the modernity project.

  • @TheCarp1989

    !

Modernity Post Modernity/Modernism, it is one and the same.

The period that follows the modernity project.

We are absolutely living in post modernity.

  • @REZZA2020 "Modernity" and "modernism" are not one in the same. Also, I don't think one would say they are "living in post-modernity" as much as they are "experiencing post-modernism".
