Around the World Swing Dance move

Me and my friend Dan doing a swing dance move called "Around the World". The first time we tried this I was dropped on my head. The second time, it was perfect. And this time...pretty good but not quite perfect.

Then towards the end we tried to do a move called "sidecars" and almost finished it, but we realized there was a ceiling fan and if we hand finished the move, i would have banged my foot on it. Sooo...it was pretty funny.

question, can you tell me what the girl does in the around the world?

my partner and i have tried to do it but i can never get all the way around

The girl's part is quite simple, really. When you have her around your back, all she needs to do is bend her knees (see what I did in the video there) so you can get a better grip on her legs. That will hopefully allow you to swing her around better. If you still can't get her all the way around....swing harder, haha.

Yeah, I'm afraid to try that move with my regular partner because I'm pretty sure I'd hit her head on the ground. That sidecars thing is neat too, I've seen it in a bunch of videos I watched today--how hard is it?

Yeah, you do have to be careful about that. If you're tall enough, or if she's short enough, OR if you can swing her hard enough that she flies out further and doesnt hang straight down, you should be ok. Try it on a matt first so that if she DOES hit her head, it won't hurt too badly (I also tried it in the grass the first time and I WAS dropped on my head....it only hurt for a little while, haha). And Sidecars is pretty easy....just make sure you both know which side she's going to first.

how do you do the rest of the sidecar? In gym class, we have to make swing routines and that is a pretty sweet move

I tired that once (I admit, reluctantly at first :P), and it was really cool. Got a very exhilarated feeling. But I only did because the guy was someone I really trusted not to drop me and it was on a mat.

Plus I'm really short and he was tall so that helped.

But even after experiencing it, it still remains an unbelievable move when I watch it.
