I believe that Lucas was chrushed when Peyton left, and when he started dating Lindsay it was a cover up so that he would not get hurt again - Lindsay was his way to relax, but as seen afterwards he never forgot Peyton. When Peyton comes back, Lucas loves her as much as before, but, he is denying who he really loves, because he is afraid to go through that much pain again. I think that when Lucas freaks out in this clip, it is because he can't lose someone again -not like the way he lost peyton.
