I wanted to test out if I could make a realistic looking "hand on fire" effect. I found a tutorial that Wren (youtube.com/WrenTheReaper) made on AE Tuts, but you had to pay for it and I was like "nah man, I got this" and made this in a few hours.

just a constructive critisism, had you thought about not adding the optical flare, it draws the eyes away from the fire i think. Just a thought :)

@BenEllandHunt I did spend some time turning the flare on and off trying to figure out what looked best. With it, it adds a hot spot where the source is, without its just kinda like an arch of fire on my palm.

Have you considered doing anything several minutes long, with a story line, or do you just do VFX?

@TysonDiffor97 I have about 20 short film scripted stored on my laptop waiting to be made. But, the problem is I dont have any friends to help make them. So that causes quite the problem.
