Description:
This is a Work in Progress of the famous villa "Falling Water" by Architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

I've been trying to remake it as accurate as possible. That is why I inserted some pictures in the video for comparison. It started out as an experiment in the possibility of real-time Architectural Visualization in UDK.

I've made the mistake of not making anything modular, even though that would have been really hard since the lack of any good blueprint of the building.
- Textures are custom made in Photoshop
- Models are made in 3ds MAX 2010 and zBrush
- There are a few standard things from UDK (i.e. some rocks, plants and the mangrove tree)
- Trees are made with SpeedTree (which comes with UDK)
The video above was recorded real-time with FRAPS in 1920x1080 on an ATI radeon HD4850 and is running steady @ ~30 fps.

  • Incredible that a video game engine looks so good in real-time without high-end ray-tracing.

  • @deepcut66: Well, the render engine in UDK (Lightmass) does render ambient occlusion with a ray-trace type aproach.

  • Man...you`re "The man"..XD...great job!!!

Q: -How many time take to do this work...(...days...weeks...) -I'm been working with "Blender· to udk" and, if I obtain results like you ... well...I am gonna be really, really happy....

  • @alexxur: I've started in april last year and its still ongoing. Most of the time is involved in creation of the 'props'. Currently I'm not too pleased with the results I'm getting. I'll have to spend some more time on the shaders :). But it works very motivating to get positive comments on this work.

  • You made this pretty Awesome!!!

Would be nice if you may could share the environment(.upk) cause i wanted to do somrthing similar.

  • @MrKrampfkeks: Thanks!

But I'm afraid I won't be sharing this environment.
