Both you Natasha and Eastwood are brainwahsed! seriously... take a good hard look at what you both seem to think is a good thing. To worship a being who supposedly tortures his slaves, and all those involved. I mean the question arises, if (HYPOTHETICALLY) Hitler was god, would then everything he promoted would become OK.
You both don't see the totalitarian absolutism of your worship?

@zytigon more waste of time?

It is interesting to read the history of protestantism and higher critcism of the Bible. Try these top sceptical Bible scholars; John W. Loftus, Dan Barker, Victor J Stenger, Valerie Tarico, Bart Ehrman, Gary Greenberg, Earl Doherty, Timothy Freke, Keith Parsons, David Mills, Joseph Wheless, Dennis Mckinsey, Robert M Price, Albert Schweitzer, Robert Ingersoll, Richard Carrier, Ken Humphreys, Try reading all aspects of the history of world religions.

The author of the book of Job is trying to guess at why things happen. Like any playwright, the author writes words into the mouth of the God & Satan characters. There are sometimes links between what people do & what happens. Why doesn't Job wonder whether he might have built the house stronger? If you live beside a volcano it is more risky. Economics drives choices. No link between breaking 10 Cs & being hit by lightning though but don't hold up an umbrella on golf course during thunder storm.

The Book of Job should be subtitled , "Nice Guys Finish Last"

@NatashaConci i think he would have been fine if it never happened in the first place.
So it is basically a
"Just to let you know" moment?

@eastwood13 God is not testing Job to find out about Job, God uses situations to reveal to us our own heart and nature, although God braged about Jobs righteousness "Job was righteous in his own eyes" in other words he was weak in one point and that was that he was arrogant. Only after Job saw himself the way he really was before God did God restore all he had lost...

Your'e all missing the point of the book of Job...Like we all miss the point about life itself. Its not about life or death, health or wealth. Job understood the mystery of life as non of us do...It is about entlightened communion with God Almighty. Only after Job saw is own arrogance (he was righteous in his own eyes) and realised who he was in the presence of God was everything restored to him....
is it ok if i make fun of god then? for you know... killing all of jobs kids and taking away everything and making him sick, all just to test his faith? what an incredibly sick and depraved god you have. can you really tell me his kids deserved that? that he deserved that? no, you cannot honestly tell me he/they did.
