rectifier is a 200v 35a and im plugin 9.6 on the A/C side and 4.3 on the other side why is this.

  • your bridge rectifier is not really converting to "smooth " dc current but pulsed

    dc current . the red wire has half of the positive current pulses and the black wire

    has the negative half of current pulses. your current meter only measures AC current,

    "sees" the DC current pulses as AC. half of 9.6 is 4.8 which after factoring in

    losses for electrolysis is pretty darn close to what you should be getting on each leg of the DC side. Hope this helps
