It's called SURGICAL REDUCTION of the intussusception under laparoscopy or laparotomy. Surgical because the intussusception itself is obviously accessed and treated by a surgeon through a surgical opening of the abdominal wall. Manual because the surgeon restores the normal morphology of the intestine manually without any surgical instrument. Sometimes the intussusception needs to be resected and therefore an anastomosis is performed. Rarely this ends up to a need for a temporary enterostomy.

Okay if it's such a small obstruction then why am I watching half of someone's intestines getting turned inside out? What's the medical term for this kind of procedure?
