Well, among the Indian Writers, Salman I believe has the best TV personae....his polished British Accent does give him an edge over the other authors..though he comes across as been a little too eccentric, it's always a delight to hear him speak , as are his books...intriguing fellow

Actually that quote of this arshie is pretty accurate. Its from the Satanic Verses. When I came across it the thought did cross my mind that "hey! this isn't exactly like 'Her Majesty' by Paul in Abbey Road" ... LOL , my guess is the ole hag elizabeth didn't read the book or that the anti-muslim sentiment that was erroneously associated with this book kind of shrouds any other allusions.

this is what Rushdie writes for the Queen of Britain. "chamcha.....he found himself dreaming of the Queen, of making tender love to the Monarch. She was the body of Britain, the avatar of the State, and he had chosen her, joined with her; she was his Beloved, the moon of his delight.". Chamcha refers to the character of Rushdiie himself. Amazing, he writes about conjoining with the Queen and the Queen awards him with Knighthood. Amazing!!!
