The true Light hath appeared

Ἰδιόμελον εἰς τὸν ὄρθρον τῶν Θεοφανείων τοῦ Κυρίου καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
Τὸ ἀληθινόν φῶς ἐπεφάνη, καὶ πᾶσι τὸν φωτισμόν δωρεῖται. Βαπτίζεται Χριστός μεθ'ἡμῶν, ὁ πάσης ἐπέκεινα καθαρότητος, ἐνίησι τὸν ἁγιασμόν τῷ ὕδατι, καὶ ψυχῶν τοῦτο καθάρσιον γίνεται, ἐπίγειον τὸ φαινόμενον, καὶ ὑπέρ τοὺς οὐρανούς τὸ νοούμενον, διὰ λουτροῦ σωτηρία, δι' ὕδατος τὸ Πνεῦμα, διὰ καταδύσεως, ἡ πρὸς Θεόν ἡμῶν ἄνοδος γίνεται, θαυμάσια τὰ ἔργα Σου Κύριε! Δόξα σοι.

Christ is baptized with us, Who is above all in purity.
He draweth sanctification into the water and becometh the cleansing of our souls, which is at once earthly and transcendeth the heavens.
Salvation is accomplished through the water.
Through immersion is our ascent to God made.
Wondrous are Thy works, 0 Lord! Glory be to Thee!
