This video by Mike Snyder of http://store.TheRawDiet.com compares the three best high speed blenders, VitaMix 4500 TurboBlend vs BlendTec HP3A vs Omega Blender. As of March 2011, I now carry the new "VitaMix VS 4500", which is the exact same as the 4500 in the video but it has a variable speed control! Details at http://store.therawdiet.com/vitamixvs.html , I also have the fancy "BlendTec HP3A Wildside," which is faster because of it's larger jar and longer blade. I recommend either the VitaMix VS or BlendTec HP3A blender as the best & top of the line. I personally use the BlendTec because I can push one button to start it, then walk into the living room with my baby. I want to protect my baby's ears! With the VitaMix you must stand there during the whole blending cycle and it can get loud.
Great taste in names! (I've got a Jude too) :)

@abbshurz I went with the VM, I love it so much. It has given me so much more freedom in the kitchen. I know I can turn almost anything into a smoothies as well as make perfectly smooth sauces, ground grains, ground spice mixtures etc. My friends are getting sick of hearing me discuss how much I love my VM.

i love how the only negative reviews on either the hp3a or vm complain about the noise. 30,000 rpms is going to require a few decibels. if you want a quiet blender, use a mortar and pestle! :)

@Proliyfic831832 i've also watched a thousand videos and comments and the VM does make things a LITTLE smoother, but some prefer the electronic controls of the blendtec. i would think that the manual controls may be more durable after years of use. less parts to wear out.

@wpc1013 VM now has a 7yr warranty, as does the blendtec. don't bother w the omega. EVERYONE uses either a VM or blendtec.

thanks for the tip on the Omega. I tried looking up reviews online and can't even find 1. I'd like to see a demo of it blending.

What is the warranty on the Omega? Vitamix has a 8 year warranty I think.

@Proliyfic831832 type in "Blendtec Blender Vs. Vitamix Blender, episode #316" in youtube
they run the blenders side by side and the Blendtec with the newer Wildside jug seems to blend the quickest and smoothest, even without using a plunger
