I think the frame rate slows down when you're using art filters in movie mode. That's why it's chugging along.

whats the point of having a camera that slows down with the art filters i dont get it and am sooo dissapointed that i bought it

@cstylewit1 ye, i agree. Seems just a gimmicky camera

What class of memory card are you using? They recommend at least a Class 6, but even higher would be best. That may be your issues here with the frame skipping on video.

hi there, what lens are you using? i have an ep1 too but somehow i cant get a shallow dof and the focusing isnt v good..

Do you mean the chugging sound? That's the focus motor in the lens. Panasonic's HD lens (and there probably will be more in the future) is silent when used on the E-P1, and you also have the option of manual focusing or muting the sound from the microphone.
Or if you don't like the camera, send it to me ;-) Have fun

Ha! That does look like a dwarf in that tree.

I have been using the EP1, the video doesn't chugg when no art filter is applied. The EP1 is a good camera and the video quality is good without filter applied.
Thanks for posting, have you tried the "Art Pin" filter yet? I have heard that it makes the video choppy and slow.

@TheCreativeJournal It does, in fact most of the filters have that effect, but then, that's what they are designed to do, a slower, nostalgic look. That said, look forward to better smoother faster art filters for video...

Its a shame that it chuggs, hopefully the next model will not have a similar chugg.
