To me, TONY's GreTscH drum kit sounds better than his last DW drum kit....!!?
Ah.... That Great GreTscH Sound !!!!
-
wow!

i wonder how much more badass he would look if he were alive today with awe....

How can you guy's on here even compare the two!!! Both Masters of the
instrument!!!!! They were totally different players! One was a big band drummer
in an era where you had a individual style and you had to drive 18 guys next to
you on the bandstand. The other a contemporary complete musician who
played "outside the box" if you can put it that way!! Tony was an "unorthadox"
drummer who played over the barline in such a musical way! To challenge
and favour one over the other is not fair!

why does it have to end?
-
Really INSPIRING!!! I love what you played on Paraphernalia TONY !!! THANKS

@zombiepaki94 What are you talking about. Tony was in Miles' band at age 16. Do you have a clue as to what Jazz-Fusion is? Guess not.
Tony Williams was one of the best drummers of all time. His style of play took him to an elite level that so few can even dream of. He was the whole package and his death was a true tragedy.

Sorry to double post but I just watched this for a second time and my jaw hit the floor. A lot of Tony's solos are more low key high-lighting his unusual and creative techniques. He just lets it all hang out here showing hand speed that actually caught me off guard. I've been listening to him for over 30 years and there was a time when many drumming fanatics considered Tony right there with Buddy. Buddy was faster but I'd rather listen to Tony.
