Beautiful... Thank you SO much for this. John Curry is like watching Rudolf Nureyev on ice.

Thank you much for the reply and a little history, quillerpen. I did see Afternoon of a Faun, and it was amazing. I've always loved that music and the ballet, too, and John skated an organic and elegant piece. I'll keep watching--thanks.

Oh my god! I've been looking for a program on this music for a lifetime!

This is SO beautiful !!
When you think there is so much publicity put on Dancing on Ice as to how hard it is to perform at such a high standard !!
This must be the benchmark.
No frills . No exploitation.
Just brilliance.

@angelshanna77889 It comes from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (the pas de deux in Act III). If you get a complete recording it should be included.
Hope this helps

I have always so loved John Curry, from the moment I saw him take the ice--thank you for this video. I don't remember Cathy Foulkes, but they are perfection together. Having been around champion skaters since my teens--am now 70--I have to say, this, to me, is the epitome of the grace and glory of the skate, Each time a skater steps onto the ice, this beauty is what we hope for.

@karenina56 Cathy was a member of John's company from his first theatre of skating show in 1977. I always think she complements him beautifully - you might want to see his 'Afternoon of a faun' with her (I think it's on Floskate's channel) which to me is his signature piece.
Hope you enjoy my other clips of him

Yes, this is part of the Act III pas de deux in the origianl Swan Lake, but not in the version as danced by the Royal Ballet. I think they dance it so tenderly together.
