The old Yammie SnoX sleds were a combination of the "SRX type" triple piped motors, and a "Viper type" chassis and suspension. They only ran in the open class because of the 700cc displacement. Thats what the Yamaha teams around here ran 10 yrs ago.
sorry to burst these sled dont have munch in common wit the customer vipers the hood was prety munch the only thing they had in common and even that was different the race sled was an 800 twin that never seen production and it had the mono shock rear skid that later went on the rx1 and apex. sad thing is if the sled in this vid had gone into production the viper would have been a way bigger hit

yeah, i know, i have an SXR700, and mine takes ditch banging just fine.... i was talking about THIS particular race sled, not vipers in general....
