The bittersweet demolition of the two smoke stacks in San Manuel, AZ.

-The first stack was built in 1952-1953, the second in 1971.

-Each stack was more than 500' high

-At full production the mine could produce 38 tons of ore every minute around the clock, every day of the year

-In 1999 The price of copper was a mere $0.66/lb. which forced the Australian owned BHP to put an end to the half century old copper mine

-It took 337 lbs of explosive to complete the closing of BHP
