  • Enfield sucks!!!

  • The enfield is a fine rifle. But people assume that the mauser is a slow and clunky rifle just because they saw it on the military channel or read it in a book. Same with the Mosin Nagant, they are very capable of quite fast operation as long as the chamber is clean and you know how to use the stripper clips properly.

  • so basicly your "mad minute" is not even half a minute, doesnt show the time taken to reload and you still only manage to get 10 rounds in this time, poor show nothing compared to an enfield im afraid

  • The ammo was romanian. Binds up in stripper clips so i cut the reloading out. Im just saying that the action isnt as slow as everyone thinks. If I had Brass cased ammo and good stripper clips, Enough ammo to burn through the rifle, and the cash to buy it. Then yeah im sure the rifle probably would of done just fine. But seeing as how i was just messing around at the range I dont think it really is a good comparison either. It was just for fun.

  • Had your haircutter a mad minute too?

  • @mst3k4evur you guys need to look into surplus ammo. 100 bucks for 340 rounds. depending on where you find it.

  • @Jawohl87

What ammo are you buying? The 8mm for my Mauser is only $18 for 20.

  • @majorporpoise and they where required to hit that target what was it 30 rounds one min aimed.... thats tough to do

  • Easy on the ammo there lol. 8mm is getting expensive. $30 for 20 rounds!!

  • While i accept the Mauser can fire fast (depends on how good the user is, to compete with the Enfields speed - training would ultimately determine all, as well as you said proper maintenance of the gun), the action of the enfield (allowing the palm loading action) ultimately was faster in the hands of a properly trained soldier. It may be the case however, that on the whole the average German soldier was better trained than the British in WW2 (though Mons in 1914 shows a lot).

  • A mad minute is hitting a target at 200 yards as fast as possible (while hitting the target). WW1 English soldiers with their SMLEs, 10 round mags, and stripper clips could hit the target minimum 20 times in a minute with some soldiers managing twice as many hits or more within the minute. I demonstrate the speed of an SMLE in one of my vids if anyone cares to take a look. Bare in mind that I'm not trying for accuracy... at all lol targetpopper is right though, other bolt actions can be fast too

  • @Targetpopper The enfield's rear locking bolt isn't as strong as say Mauser or Mosin's but it does have one advantage to said bolt actions. Cock on close. It doesn't have that stiff cock on open the two latter rifles share, thus can be operated a little more quickly. I own several enfields, mosins, a K98k, and many other historic military surplus rifles/pistols so I'm not just regurgitating something I read. Enfield can be shot faster, other bolt action rifles can also be shot fast if clean.

  • @Targetpopper

I would take a mauser over the enfield any day (including a bloody Thursday in 1941)

  • @Targetpopper you can still operate the action on the mauser 98 quickly but it wont be as fast as the enfield, the enfield has a much shorter bolt throw than the mauser.
