The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday that would help states keep close to 140,000 teachers in their jobs. Analysts say the economic downturn has been especially tough on educators. Many teachers were laid off at the end of the school year. But now, with federal funding, many hope to be rehired within the next couple of weeks. VOA'S Carolyn Presutti looks at the issue through the eyes of a music teacher in Yonkers, New York.
