Madam Lai Kwan was pregnant in 1982 when she worked at the Mitsubishi rare earth refinery in Bukit Merah, Malaysia. This film is a peek into the life she has led since her child was born in 1983.

  • i grew up in this place. i still remember when i was small i used to see a lot of people like him on the streets. some look even worse and they are all treated as outcast. i didn't know it was due to the factory causing this until my dad told me several years later. i've seen how bad it was to my kampung. don't let this happen anymore. people of malaysia please rise up.

  • The Production Team (PT) has given us this clip as a tool to create more awareness. I have certainly shared this with all my friends. Please go ahead and let all your friends know about this and they, in turn, do the same..... Let the words spread....

Again, another round of applause for the PT for their good hearts and excellent job... Thanks a million....

  • Yes, everyone with a good heart will have empathy for this family and many others that were/are affected. So, what can we do then? We can't reverse what had happened, can we? However, we certainly can do something to prevent such horrifying history to repeat again. Chance was high that our forefather and parents did nothing then because of either ignorance/unawareness but now that we are aware (thanks to good ppl like the production team), we should do all we can to stop such projects.

  • By repeatedly posting your question, "What is there to "like"? at this video... tells me of your insistence that others should think like you. Try putting yourself in the place of others and see what you think. Do not just lock up your thoughts in your own world.

  • i am just curious and did not insist other ppl follow my way (btw, which part of my comment did stated so)... "By clicking "like" is my encouragement and appreciation to the producer of this video to continue with their cause of creating awareness".. ok.. that's true enough.. and i did not mention you did not share this vid.. sorry to make you misunderstand my intention.. i jz feel sorry for this family and not understand what is there to 'like'.. that's all.. please dont make it too complicated

  • MrKenment, By clicking "like" is my encouragement and appreciation to the producer of this video to continue with their cause of creating awareness. How do you know I did not share this clip. Friend, everyone has his/her own way of expression. Why are you insisting that others follow your way of doing so? If you have your own way of bring awareness and/or showing appreciation, please by all means, do so but not making unconstructive comments. Go ahead and do what's best for MY... Peace.....

  • A mother's love knows no bounds, this video is another proof of it.

  • nope i wasn't. the whole fiasco was over a few years after i was born. guess you could tell roughly how young i am :)

  • RIP Kok Leong... and stay strong Lai Kwan!! the revolution is coming soon!
