In the early 90's, Nintendo joined with Phillips to make the horror known as the CD-i. Hoping to not only capture the male gamer, Philips took a long look at the Legend of Zelda phenomenon and asked: "If the games are about Zelda, why can't you play as her?" And since much of the CD-i software was designed with female viewers/players and mothers in mind, the decision to create a second game with Zelda in the starring role was a natural one.

With the exception of stitching them together, I have in no way edited the video.

Note: The clips are courtesy of IGN.com. I came upon them while looking for a guide for Zelda: Wind Waker
