Second Life Avatars can be imported into an eLearning course with a little creativity. In this demonstration, Terrence Wing created a green screen background in Second Life and screen captured the animation of his Avatar. He then used the chroma key effect in vegas to create a background and import the finished media into a Articulate Course. Second Life makes exceptional Avatars that are 3 dimensional, and can easily be personalized. These Avatars look far superior to common Avatar builders that are designed specifically for eLearning courses. The biggest advantage beyond the superior look of a Second Life Avatar is that it is free.

  • Great point mdiapro. Licensing is an important consideration every time you use third party applications. Great advice.

  • Be careful when using online services. Content, artifacts, and other proprietary rights apply online, just as they do if you were taking a photocopy of someone else's works from a book. READ the license agreenment.
