@LoveGrownCold I looked up the definition of indulgence my friend. There is no way to sugar coat the unbiblical teachings of the Papacy
-
@LoveGrownCold This same doctrine was opposed by Luther because the priests of that time attempted to sell "forgiveness" to the highest bidder. In other words they could continue doing whatever they pleased as long as they paid the priest for forgiveness. But who can forgive sins but God. No man has the authority to forgive you of your sins. Jesus Christ and the Father in Heaven are the only ones that can forgive. For feeble mortals to lay claim to the rights of God is blasphemy.

We need too attack Rome at the heart.

@rickydepths1 One of the first things JC did after the ressurection was empower his apostles to forgive sins, acting "in the place of Christ". It is JC who does the forgiving, no doubt about it.
Luther was for sure right about how selling indulgences was a bad thing. Never a teaching of the church though.

@rickydepths1 Not a fan of Monsanto, but this video is a mischaracterization of the Churches role and position. Also, this favorite scripture quote (Rev 17) was almost removed from the New Testament by Luther, as he wanted to remove 4 books including Revelations. Of course if he did that, the evil Catholic Church would today be accused of adding those four books to the New Testament along with the 7 Old Testament books they added (Luther removed those books in his Luther Bible).

@tcorris There is a documentary called "While You Were Sleeping Full Documentary" on Youtube. I suggest doing a search on it and watching it in its entirety. Peace be with you.

@rickydepths1 The scribes made this accusation against Christ. Matthew 9:8 "But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men." Notice the plural version of man was used, not the singular in bestowing this power of God. You must slow down when you read the Bible and not read through it so that you can brag that you read through it x number of times. Just because you read the Bible does not mean you understand the Bible.

The video is great, but the music becomes a little trying after a few minutes....perhaps a different soundtrack?

Yes, many of the mainline denominations have something rather bizarre about them. They still include elements of Catholicism in them such as infant baptism. Also, many of the mainline denominations such as the Presbyterian Church have become very affirming towards Islam these days.

@ChrisDaron, as for the numerous sects in Protestantism, the evil one who is the author of lies and confusion has sadly created lots of doctrinal division in the faith. That being said, the Bible does define the saints or God's children as those who keep His commandments (re: Exodus 20) and the faith of Jesus / Yahushua.
-
@ChrisDaron, I did respond to your previous post and I'm looking forward to yours on where Christ taught His disciples to forgive sin or where the apostles forgave sins with Biblical verses to support your claim. As for my post about the Catholic commandments being different from those listed in the BIble, it's another point of discussion I would like to raise.
Also. We have power to heal the sick and raise the dead because Jesus dwells in us. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave dwells in us also. We are suppose to do those things, being children of God. Jesus did a lot of those things while He was on this earth, and we have to do so too, through Him.
