Yeah. That is pretty much my nightmare. To be in a situation where my fate is determined by a bunch of nitwits or tweedle dee and tweedle dum types, or beaurocrats. Nothing rationale or logical driving things. Like Steve Martin's jury of peers 12 or 13 logic from the middle ages or Monty Python's the witch floats or sinks duck "logic". So scarey that real people today think like that too. This is a great movie. Gots to order a copy.

He says its a "magnum .44", but its a nice pre-war .357.

LOVE THIS MOVIE! I found it in my parents old movies collection! I love how satirical this film is, and how it still points out how the big companies and corporations control everything.

Man, this scene is horrifying - having your life in the balance over a couple of bickering coworkers! Funnyman Arte Johnson is brilliantly scary here.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I was in college in 76 when I first saw it on the late movie and never missed it since whenever it is on. I laughed myself sick. Canadian spies? I wish someone had put the scene of him doing the hippy chick in the field while foreign agents were killing each other trying to get to him. The camera pulls up to an overhead shot to show them leaving, Kropotkin the last one standing in a field of dead spies. Classic!

The best scene in the film is hard to pick, IMHO. It's a toss up between the climactic battle in TPC HQ with the Russian and America protagonists, the surreal scene with the Sydney and Snow White lovers stalked by assasins while Barry McGuire sang that crazy song, or the FBR agent's monologue about the "N" word at the start of the flick.

Quite possibly the finest political satire of all time. Only "Wag The Dog" equals it. Killer timing, dialogue, plot buildup and a stellar cast who somehow remind us of the real tragedy .. that in the midst of geocultural/political inanity there are human beings trapped by the machine who too easily accept easy outs .. AWESOME movie! Glad to see some clips here.

The look on Coburn's face is fantastic when Johnson puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger.
This was a very prophetic movie on many fronts.
Plus it was just damn funny
Just finished watching this movie. Loved it a lot. But can someone tell me the meaning of the ending in which James Coburn and company destroys "The Phone Company" (great role by Pat Harrington as the president) and suddenly he and his army are back and meaner than ever?
