The speaker is boring. She lacks the spank for public speaking. It looks as though she can't wait to finish her speech. But nonetheless, excellent for a law student.

Apologies are in order. I agree, the speaker isn't really a mooter to begin with, hence, it's really amateurish. It's one of those moot court competitions where the trainors compel the speakers to observe time limits and speak in a modulated manner (unlike British Parliament or Oxford Oregon where one can be as animated and obnoxious as one wishes). Maybe that's the Ateneo style, I don't know.

I know the person in the video. I can't say if she's a native English speaker, because we Filipinos like to think that we are, even if it isn't true.

At the time, the mooter was a 1L and wasn't grounded in mooting yet. There was no competition here, just a class project. Their strange, fast-speaking style is a speech pattern drilled into undergrad debaters (because it works and brings home trophies). Unfortunately, students so trained seem to carry this mentality into a moot court setting.

that is now how i will present my case..i will not sound like a debater and will not smile to the court if not necessary...but she her english is clear enough...i assume she is not native??

Not horrible, but the pace was too quick, eye contact was poor and her nervous movements (with her legs and arms) were very distracting.
