There are currently no known battery operated lava lamps. The reason for this is because is how lava lamps work. A bulb inside the lava lamp heats up the water and lava so that they react and spread apart causing the blobs of wax to float around inside the lamp. The lamps need a lot of heat for the reaction to occur and thus the lamp needs to be plugged in and turned on. If a lava lamp was battery operated, the battery would die in a very short time and then you would have to replace the battery very often. Also, because lava lamps need this heat to function, the batteries can become dangerous. There are a few alternatives to lava lamps, though. People who have called us regarding battery powered lava lamps have bought our different kind of lamps known as the LED Spin Lights and Some Glitter Lamps. Both these lamps can be battery operated and function differently than a lava lamp.
