I recently traversed world five, but number six is still unavailable. Does this have something to do with me not having all the puzzle pieces, or is it something else?

Simple, just stand under these plants and push "Y" until all "meat folowers" hide at same time. After that push "X + RB" to fast forward the time. In this method the plants hide and time just stop. And now you can cross these "walking puppies" how many you want;)

After playing through the speed runs a few times I've begun to simply get all the plants to open and close at similar times; from there I wait until they're all closed then reverse at 1x for a second, then release for a second, then wait a second, reverse, wait, etc. until two or three make it to the end and then jump on their heads.

Yea even after watching this I cannot get that last piece in this vid. Its unbelieveably hard. I honestly am about to just forget about it and not play anymore.

It's much easier to do the 2nd cloud one if you put the ring on the platform above and jump up into its "field". I think that's how the creator intended it to be done.

Duuuuuuudes on the 7:07 part just drop the slow ring on the plant nearest to the wall and wait until all three plants are down. Then just fast-forward and quickly press right bumper to achieve a x0 time reversal. Then the little guys can just pass over all three tubes without dying
