@izzybandman maybe you visit a store less anal, because the one nearby me clearly stated by a sales clerk and a call on the phone that they won't take returns on toilets. you could probably complain enough and they may finally cave in, but they give you static about it. and in general any thing that's a return they now ask for your phone #.. they claim this is so you can return without a receipt which is a lie. they are tracking returns. no thanks--i'll stick to hd. further to drive but worth it

@Kittyrevelution all im saying any one with a slight education could see they over hire to meet a deadline then turn people out of jobs once their deadline is in the free and clear. And seriously they will never tell you this but its right in front of you this asshole named Larry who use to manage the Lowes in West Nashville did this to me. He was loaded cause he bought the shit out of lowes stock during the housing boom 7 years ago. Ill admit im pissed cause I wanted to get in on that money.

To the kind folks defending Lowes got a big time question for you why do they mass hire when they are setting up a store then turn around and look for a reason to fire 70 percent of their employees when the store is set up. The day they hired me I was extatic 3 months later I was looking for a job after store was set up and all the racks where build and the merchandise was all set up. Look I know im not a genius but is that what it takes for retail seriously I could run a register so why

the customer is an idiot but nonetheless some lowes stores management practices and employees clearly need to be reviewed.

as to the claim that lowes lets you return anything--not always. it maybe USED to be that way, but they have gotten increasingly more anal about it much more than home depot. Example--recently we got a toilet at home depot. It was faulty and we returned it (unused) with no issue. Lowes won't take back toilets for example, even if it's faulty and has a leak.
