@rayofminneapolis What if the brake on the train went out and the cross-traffic had a green light? Well let's just say it would NOT be a pretty picture!!! The train would probably be wrecked somewhat, They should sync the lights with the train, Why don't they do that? I wonder.

Yeah it would be a lot quicker if they did sync the lights with the trains. Haha, its funny because sometimes an announcement for the next station will sound and then the train will be stuck at a red light and people will think its a station and try to open the doors xD

I am going to Minneapolis in a few weeks hopefully I will get a chance to ride the train.

u should do a timelapse vid of this. now that would be sweet.

I was not yet born when the Original HIAWATHA STEAM STREAMLINED train was runing, I understand also this same route, but now in the Light Rail Train I feel I am the engineer of the original HIAWATHA.

@lailasalas Yes it's true that a portion of the line is the same ROW as the original Hiawatha. However the concurrent portion is rather short. The original line veered into Saint Paul befoe heading south along the Mississippi River. I rode that train in my Senior Class Trip to Wisconsin Dalles. It was very scenic.

The signals almost seem to be timed against the train as much as possible. Must be frustrating.

It seems that they are more out of sync if you are in a hurry ;-)
