Even though it's been torrential rains off and on for the last couple hours, which was predicted, I went to the grocery store around 9pm and nearly got blown off the road by the high winds, which weren't predicted. After an electric company truck cruised through the neighborhood around 10pm looking for downed power lines to repair I decided to check the radar maps to see what was going on, since none of these winds were predicted at the weather channel. Here is high speed timelapse video of Southeast radar images over 2 hours from about 10pm to midnight, Thursday June 4, 2009. I'll be damned if it doesn't look like a small hurricane moved through this area tonight (the clip has no audio). I'm checking the GOES satellite images now to see if it shows up there also. If so, I'll post another clip.
