Norfolk Southern train rolls through Belleville, Illinois on 08/02/08. I believe the speed limit through Belleville is 45 mph, but don't hold me to it. FYI, I bought a tripod after I shot this video, so hopefully no more shaky videos in the future. TrainmanKight pointed out the rare lights on the overhead crossbars. Good eye TrainmanKight.

  • @bluestorms5 I have also heard the same thing. Terminal may benefit from this new corridor. From what I understand, NS has been quite busy trying to extend its reach throughout the South. Good move on their part since the population of the Nation has shifted to the South. We shall see what happens.

    Thanks for keeping in touch.

  • O Ok thats what I was thinking. Thats pretty cool. Does that make them any older?

  • Well I can tell you that they were there when I went to Belleville West (when it was on Main Street). I graduated there 20 years ago, so that puts them at least 25 years old.

  • What makes those lights rare?

  • You typically don't see the lense covers over crossing lights like that.

  • Good work, watch where you aim the camera though, the sun can kill the exposure.

Are you from Belleville, IL? I'm from Belleville, MI lol.

  • Thanks for the tip. Yep, from Belleville, Illinois.

  • This is one of my favorite crossings in downtown Belleville area, the other one being the IL 159 crossing in Swansea by the park. I miss railfanning there!
