Taken with a new Nikon s8100, 1080p. A little shaky but the clarity and 1080p video is great. I was going to get the Canon s95 but it is $100 more and it only does 720p. The s95 is much better in low light video situations and has the miniature mode that I really like.
I have 5 Nikon film cameras and a D300 so I got this one just to take video with. I just built a homemade stabilizer for this camera and will upload some videos taken with it soon. Obviously this video wasn't taken with it. I am new to video so I have allot to learn.

  • Under Movie options I have 1080p and HS movie 240 set to default. You might have 15fps or 60fps set as default and that might cause it. Also make sure to use a Class 10 SDHC card.

  • What video settings were you using? When I have mine on 1080p* it does this skipping judder/jerky motion when I pan.

  • @NoodlesSF I have it on 1080p so I think your SDHC card cannot write fast enough. What kind of SDHC card do you have and is it a Class 10?

  • hi what brand of memory card

  • @hakan620 Hey, I am using a Kingston 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Class 10 Flash Card Model SD10/16GB

  • この手の動画に音楽をミックスさせてる物が多いけどこうやってカメラマイクの音質が聴きたいので未編集物は大変ありがたい

  • cool!

  • @shiesty90 It's a 4GB SanDisk SDHC card and says C4. It came with the camera as a package deal at Costco. I don't know why they'd sell a card that isn't fast enough with the camera. I looked in the manual and now see where it says a Class 6 or better is recommended for movies. Thanks for the info/advice.

  • @16thYear I think for the price the S8100 is an excellent camera, you can pick it for around $250 now and the s95 for around $350. My stills, HDR and video from this camera are awesome and I have been into photography for around 25 years. I kind of equate the my cameras to having a 23 foot sailboat and a 37 foot sailboat. The 37' will sit at the dock for most of the year but I can sail the 23' everyday with hardly any effort. My 37' is like launching the space shuttle each time.

  • @goldenboi24k Tell me about it. I would pay to take HDR pictures of this thing with no people and a tripod. Might get away with a hand held HDR not sure. I think he keeps it down in Kissimmee, FL so I might go down and take some better shots of it and video.
