The shamwow is a german made product marketed by Offer "Vince" Shlomi aka Vince offer. Vince is a writer,director,comedian from haifa isreal. His first major work was called "the underground comedy movie" and was released in 1999. He used the same tactic as girls gone wild to market his movie and sold over 50,000 copies by direct order. In the late 2000's vince drew on his experience in the flea markets and began appearing in commecials for house hold products such as the slap chop (slapchop).

2 years before the shamwow the late Billy Mays marketed a similar towel (chamois) called the zorbies and the magazine "popular mechanics" put them head to head and the shamwow proved to be more effective in absorbing liquids.

The Fox channel's "deal or dud" tested the shamwow and struggled to get the product to work as advertised.

Another product marketed by vince was the slapchop which is a handheld food chopping/dicing device. It is operated by slapping your hand down on the large button as the blades come down and chop the food. When ordered it came with the graty which is an easy to use cheese grater. Vince used the catch phrase "you're going to love my nuts" (which is a double entendre) to sell. Billy mays also sold a similar product and it is speculated he stole both the shamwow and slapcop idea from him.

on February 7th 2009 vince offer was arrested in miami beach, florida for the battery of a 26 year old prostitute, after she bit his tongue and wouldn't let go. charges were declined against offer.

How does the shamwow work?
First you soak it in water and then once its damp pat it down on what your trying to absorb. After lift and ring out the water.

what else can chamois (shammy cloths) be used for?
Gloves, drying material, polishing jewels or shoes, leather jackets, small bags, pouches, it has medical uses for orthopedics and also filtering fuel
