OMPHALOMIN, 2006, an permanent, interactive sound sculpture by visual artist Gun Holmström.
It was commissioned by the Helsinki City Art Museum 2006 and it is placed in a park in eastern Helsinki (Rekipellonpuisto, Vesala). More info at www.gnuh.net

    Hi, thanks for the feedback! Yes it's electronic, it works with optical sensors. Inspiration for this piece was the theremin, on of the first electronical instruments.

  • Very, very interesting. How does it work? Im guessing it's either electronic, or something to do with the air going through and being compressed.

    Id love to make stuff like that in the future, though Im more of a painter than a sculptor
