  • this is the problem with religion, mockery...AFFLUENZA was a termed coined by psychiatrist oLIVER jAMES, this is a mockery both of christianity and a misunderstanding of what exactly the term means...what exactly is the point of this video?

  • "The Affluenza virus is a set of values which increase our vulnerability to psychological distress: placing a high value on acquiring money and possessions, looking good in the eyes of others and wanting to be famous."

    -Oliver James

Where is the misundertanding? And what makes you think these people are mocking Christianity?

  • It's best to see Rev. Billy live with the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir. Billy & crew descend on Starbucks often, performing exorcisms on their cash registers.

  • PS;If you read the book, the affluenza virus as postulated by James is a 'SET OF VALUES', which is has been gradually internalised through a combination of social conditions and upbringing-ie nature and nurture. This 'embeddedness' is psychological, calling people to stop shopping is counter-productive because it is not up for renegotiation in that way...you need to call people to reflect on what being human means in the grander scheme of things.....

  • oh, im sorry, i thought the radio station scene was a mockery, evidently it wasnt...my understanding of 'placing a high value' is not proclaiming that shopping is evil, as this video alludes...that is unrealistic and likely to have the negative effect on what should be a very seriously considered phenomena...secondly, holding the microphone stands and the theatricality of the voices of those 'praying' where im from is superflous...good book though...
