Could a great white shark be lurking in Alabama waters?

That's what an Orange Beach fisherman says he and his crew encountered back on July 25th.
Chip Day took photos of the sighting about 40 miles southeast of Perdido Pass.

He says the shark appeared to be around 12 feet long when it came up to the back side of their boat. Experts say the chances of seeing a Great White in the northern region of the Gulf are very rare, but Day disagrees. "There's no fences in the Gulf and it may be the same scientists saying that, that say there's no red snapper left in the gulf,"Said Day.

  • Years ago there were guys in phillipi creek using a net and caught a 6 foot great white. It wasn't right at the inlet from the gulf.

  • LOL!! "The same scientist that say there arent any red snapper in the Gulf." Limits are being caught every day during the season with just a couple drops. Throwing chum out and it looks like a sea of red. Silly
