@achtung13 dude, hate crime can happen no matter where you are, I think big cities are safer because there are always people round, and its cosmopolitain so people are less likely to give a shit if yr gay. Just be sensible, keep yr wits about you, be careful who you hit on and youll be fine. Ive lived in big cities and small country towns and Ive always felt safer in the cities. Remember if you act like a victim you will be victimised.
