I was there too..... Sigh.... Quite possibly the sweatiest night I ever remember, and yes, the day after the 10th summer thing.. (of which these geezers stole!!)..

@sockyellow And yet, people completely devoid of imagination still tell me the Smiths were depressing. They just don't hear the wit and sarcasm that seems so clear to my ears.



songs can make you smile and make you cry, but they can very rarely make you laugh. I think thats why the smiths are so fantastic, they can write meaningfull songs with a sense of humor, whereas with most bands it's all "urgh i'm depressed i'm going to kill myself"

I think that's really possible. I love The Smiths and I love Morrissey as well. But yes, the solo stuff is very different in lyrics and music. I love the smiths and i like a lot Morrissey music, and THERE is the difference.
