Nice Video..

can't wait for these jetboats to be rolled out. It's going to replace the Mersey class boat at our station.
-
@kieranmullen2 They have the ability to do this, but this RNLI lifeboat has been designed because some lifeboat stations cannot be situated right on the shore so some have long beaches to negociate before they can launch. This lifeboat was therefore designed so it can be launched and recovered from a beach.

In A Real Launch It Would Not Take This Long!
This Is Just A Test!

Why can't they have a dock like most boats?
-
I agree it takes too long to launch, but there seems to no other way. I wonder is there any reason why he steers a zig zag course as he approaches the beach. I know it is a sandy beach but the contact cannot be doing the keelband much good. Yes that tractor is the ugliest thing I have seen for a long time, it looks like one of the transformers !!

takes way too long to launch

I love the way the boat powers up onto the beach for recovery! thats so cool! Shame about that tractor.. ugliest thing i've ever seen!
great video, and if put in service will be the fastest ALB in the fleet, as its jet powered! again, great video

You know how kids can ask questions non stop, the whats that for? why is it like that? how does it get in the water? why's it not got wheels etc, we saw this when it was on the harbour car park when we went to walk the dogs,it took five minutes to get past after they had exhausted every question you could think of, and thanks to this Great Video I can now say 'told you so', 'dear of um' I would like to have seen it launch in person.
