It's been over a month since I upgraded my grow light and added some fish. Lettuce growth is definitely better than my previous attempt, but I'm still not sure it's healthy. Herbs continue to do great, all 5 goldfish are healthy, and my tomato starts are looking good, though.

  • My guess is your using the wrong color of light for the plants. By the way plants are looking your using about 2700K light. I would try 6500K light and see if that doesn't help.

If thats not the problem then they need more light closer to the plants.

Just a guess, from looking at video and it something to look at... be safe, take care

  • @MrMadmax478 Thanks for the reply and advice. The bulb is a 6500k light and I can confirm that the color is very "cool." It's pretty bright, too (supposedly 6800 lumens), but I may try positioning the lettuce directly under the light and/or running the lamp longer.

  • well I run mine 16hr a day and have the light as close as possible to the plants. Might be a little over kill but it works for me. Try 12 hours and go from there. Also FYI Florescent Lights lose about 30% of there lumens from the time there new till they go out on you.
