Heliskiing programmes have been run in Uzbekistan for over 18 years. Within this period of time the region has become so popular that booking should be done one year prior to the beginning of heliskiing season. Stable weather and rather favourable temperatures for heliskiing, big choice of great slopes and the best price quality ratio account for this popularity. Skiing takes place in the mountains of Western Tien Shan (Ugam, Pskem and Chatkal ranges), just 100--150 km from Tashkent — the capital of Uzbekistan, at the altitudes between 2,500 and 4,200 meters above sea level. The average run is up to 2000 vertical metres and can be as long as 10 km.
