Tyler Perry is an asshole. No wonder his movies never do so well.

Spike Lee didn't say Meet the Browns or House of Payne specifically, shame on them for misquoting him. But he was obviously alluding to them haha.

Speak on it, Tyler! I love you, Spike, but you're exercising bad judgment with your attacks on Tyler, brother. You should be ashamed.

people need to lighten up

so tired of black people being concerned about what or how other races see us...tp would not be getting the response from audiences if there were no relations...everyone in our community has a madea or brown in their family or knows somebody who does, not to mention the story line. sick of convinient black folks who only want to honor some of who we are..like tp said the real message is about healing these wounds not hiding behind so called progress how bout tp & spike do something together

But people dont want to talk about his movies like Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Why Did I Get Married? or even Madea Goes To Jail? yeah there is comedy but when you watch the movies it has more things in it than just the comedy. They actually have real life comedies in those moves. So why are people wanting to focus on the NEGATIVES and not look at the messages and the real life situations in those movies. I hate how people critiicize him like that.

Good point, but i think the difference is that Hollywood allows very few t.v. shows that display whites in a negative manner. Right now, if it's not a blockbuster, Hollywood isn't backing it. Tyler has black womens emotions by the tits and is squeezing them for all th milk he can get out of them & the women r falling for it. Think of the other shows that are running simultaneously with Mama's, thn think about the alternatives we're getting for TP. I get Spike's point.

Well, Tyler can be insulted all he wants but there's an ounce of truth to what Spike said. Tyler's Madea can't hold a candle to brilliance like: When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, Four Little Girls, etc. Tyler needs to step his game up and stop reproducing the same repetitive things, over and over!
30 second commercial is too long for 1 minute clip. need to be more reasonable.

i love, love Perry's work. It makes me laugh, feel, and be motivated to be a stronger woman and person. I don't think it demeans blacks, I feel it makes me appreciate and love the diversity within being black communiity which makes me grateful to have all of it in the U.S. You go Tyler!! Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!
