  • It alludes to Henry Darger's "The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinnian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion". Perhaps the whole song is not about the work itself, but it definitely uses it to draw themes out about growing up and relationships.

The Vivian girls are part of Henry Darger's stories and illustrations and the 19000 pages line is in direct correlation with how many pages Darger's work is.

  • i love this song! it's deff. my favorite!

  • @Gleek8littlemonster oh hi jess :P

  • this song reminds me of the Sarah Dessen book Dreamland. it's so beautiful.

  • um excuse me, who had the nerve, the AUDACITY, to dislike this!?!

  • I have a band and we r going to do this song...but I hope we do it proud...

  • One of my favourite Tilly Songs.

  • i REALLY like this song. :)

  • I've always been somewhat confused by the "19,000 pages" line. His work was actually a little over 15,000 and the watercolors he made only totalled a couple hundred. At the most, his work was most likely about 16,000 pages. I guess we'll never know, though. Great song, great referrence. :)

  • @sophiebittle I definitely will! :D

  • @TravisBensonMusic

Yeah, it's too bad. Most of the books on the subject are also either out of print or really expensive, but you should watch the documentary :)

  • @sophiebittle I was very sad when I realized I couldn't actually READ the Story of the Vivian Girls. I know it's long but I would've read it because this is my favorite song in the world right now.

But it is a beautiful song and it's remarkable how they did it.

    :)
