I'd love to see 5.1 Beatles discography but I have doubts as to how well it would work with pre-White Album. It was only from then on they were recording into 8 channels. I know Sgt Pepper was quad remixed some time in the early seventies but never saw the light of day.

Interesting. I must watch the dvd version. I know a lot of people have wondered - including myself- as to wether there are 5.1 versions of their entire output, and it seems there are, possibly due to the LOVE project. Only way to know, is if another remaster set is rolled out for 5.1 conisseurs.

It sounds like a downmix from the 5.1 mix, as part of the film. The 5.1 mix was a load of shit. The album was recorded in 4 channels. Mixing it to 6 made it sound terrible.
