C5 corvettes had 400+ horsepower C6 corvettes are in the 500-600~ engines LOL dudebro. LOL.

@Vaicurious Corvettes (at least C2-C4) never relied on pure brute force HP though, it was all about how light they were and low geared they were, besides you're flat out wrong anyway the '76 Stingray had 205 HP stock

@needshift The Old Vette is already much heavier than the GTi. One person's weight makes no real difference, and, if the vette is really a 76, the car' is actually 230hp not 300hp.The mid 70s until the mid 90s was the worst Age for American performance cars.

There's no point of comparison, there's no point on this race rather than having fun. Corvette is a sports car built with that purpose on mind, the GTi (a very good car if you ask me) is just a sporty version of compact car.
